Fusion Embedded™ PPP
Point-to-Point Protocol
Fusion Embedded™ Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) source code is designed for serial links and provides a method for transmitting Datagrams over serial point-to-point links. Fusion Embedded PPP is comprised of three main components:
- A method for encapsulating Datagrams over serial links
- A Link Control Protocol (LCP) for establishing, configuring and testing the data-link connection
- A family of Network Control Protocols (NCPs) for establishing and configuring different network layer protocols
Point-to-Point Protocol
The power of Fusion Embedded PPP is provided by the PPP encapsulation scheme, together with the PPP Link Control Protocol (LCP), an extensible option negotiation protocol that is able to negotiate a rich assortment of configuration parameters and provides additional management functions.
