Press Release
Unicoi Systems and IAR Systems Form ARM Development Partnership
Unicoi to Bundle Fusion RTOS with IAR EWARM
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – April 22, 2003 – Unicoi Systems, Inc. (formerly DSP OS, Inc.), a leading provider of software solutions to the embedded device market, and IAR Systems, a world leader in embedded software development tools, today announced a partnership in which Unicoi will offer packaged pricing for IAR’s Embedded Workbench for the ARM (EWARM) to developers using the Fusion RTOS. The IAR EWARM seamlessly integrates the IAR C/Embedded C++ compiler, assembler, linker, librarian, debugger, editor and project manager. The upcoming release of the Fusion RTOS will be tightly coupled with the EWARM tool chain, moving Unicoi yet another step closer to providing Fusion developers with a one-stop solution for their embedded software needs.
In addition to the EWARM product line, Unicoi has also agreed to license IAR’s MakeApp graphical development tool. MakeApp will provide developers with a visual workspace for configuring Fusion software components as well as microcontroller specific device drivers.
“We are extremely excited about our partnership with IAR,” said Unicoi’s President and CEO Greg Coonley. “IAR’s reputation and success in the embedded software industry is second to none. With this partnership, we will now be able to offer Fusion developers a tightly integrated RTOS/Compiler solution for their ARM development needs.”
“The combination of the Embedded Workbench and Fusion with IAR MakeApp as a front-end configuration tool is nothing short of visionary,” exclaimed Mike Skrtic, IAR Systems’ Tools and Applications Manager. “This is the way that users in the future will expect their tools to work!”
