Unicoi Systems Releases Fusion® RTSP for Clients and Servers
Release Also Includes Support for IPv6
ATLANTA, GEORGIA –
August 8, 2006 – Unicoi Systems, a leading provider of real-time multimedia software and reference designs to embedded device developers and OEMs worldwide, today announced the release of its Fusion® Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) for clients and servers. RTSP is a protocol for use in streaming media applications which enables an RTSP client to remotely control an RTSP server, using commands such as “play” and “pause”, and providing time-based access to files on the server. Fusion RTSP is an implementation of the Real Time Streaming Protocol as specified in RFC 2326.
Key features of Fusion RTSP include:

- Small, efficient footprint and minimal CPU use
- Written in 100% portable ANSI C
- Supports “setup”, “play”, “pause”, “teardown”, “options”, “describe”, “announce” and “set_parameter” requests
- Supports digest and authentication.
Fusion RTSP provides a high-level API that hides the internal details of the RTSP engine from the application, simplifying RTSP application development. It provides a callback mechanism for informing the application of the progress of all RTSP requests and responses. Fusion RTSP uses Unicoi’s common C runtime library porting macros providing operating system and network stack independence.
