Unicoi Systems Strengthens Security Suite with Embedded IKEv2 Release
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – September 12, 2006 – Unicoi Systems, a leading provider of real-time multimedia software and reference designs to embedded device developers and OEMs worldwide, today announced the availability of its Fusion® Internet Key Exchange (IKE) protocol with support for IKEv2. IKE is an Internet Protocol security (IPsec) standard protocol used to ensure security for VPN negotiation and remote host or network access. It provides an automatic means of negotiation and authentication for IPsec security associations. Fusion IKEv2 is an implementation of the IKEv2 Protocol as specified in RFC 4306.
"Unicoi Systems’ support of IKEv2 functionality is a clear demonstration of our commitment to remain at the vanguard of embedded software solutions”, said Greg Coonley, CEO of Unicoi Systems. “Given the reliability improvements IKEv2 offers over its predecessor IKEv1, the Fusion IKEv2 implementation is a natural choice for device manufacturers that require the latest VPN functionality.”
Key features of Fusion IKEv2 include:
- Greater simplicity, and enhanced performance, security and reliability
- Support for Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)
- Legacy IKEv1 support, including support for ISAKMP (RFC 2408), IKE (RFC 2409), the Internet DOI (RFC 2407), NAT traversal, legacy authentication, and remote address acquisition.
Fusion IKEv2 is part of the Fusion Security Product Suite that was designed specifically for embedded systems. This extremely small footprint suite of software includes a fully integrated array of security components, including IPsec, VPN, IKEv1/v2, SSL/TLS, secure SOAP and secure WebPilot, Unicoi’s secure embedded web browser.
